Production blog editing - FT
While thinking about ways on how to edit our film I think of how to make it the most scary. Scary films usually have a thing about them that makes them unique. For example Friday the 13th movies having a big shock factor every time Jason vorhees appears on screen. For us we wanted something similar to that to be edited into the film. We planned to do this by adding cuts to the killer main villain and back. To give the persons reaction along with the killers Point of view. We wanted to use a lot of mid range and close range shots to make the video seem more like a vlog. We then wanted to add things like scary music. No music can also be useful but only in certain moments of pure suspense. Most times however music can add a sense that isn’t felt otherwise. It also can make a movie more scary obviously. A lot of horror movies in fact wouldn’t even be scary without proper editing. The only disappointing being part whole editing is that a lot of music is copyrighted. This makes it harder to find the best music for our video. However, royalty free music is an amazing option we can also use. We have Daniel editing our video and he’s experienced with things like CapCut. We will be able to stitch our video together to make it flow seemlessly. Then we will make it more scary by adding our own music. Or we can use copyright free music like mentioned as to avoid any issues. It’s fairly simple to find horror themes online.
