Me and Daniel have decided how to edit our video. We plan to use a black and white filter. This will add some aesthetic to the video and make it more scary. Older horror films and even some new ones have a black and white filter. It can add a sense of mystery and confusion alongside the horror. We can also add some slow motion shots into the video to emphasize the scary parts. Throughout the opening we also plan to use a scary looking font. A scary font will make the video more anonymous which will help in the long run since the killer might not be as scary. Since horror films have been around for a long time it’s harder to make a scary villain. The black and white along with the font will help make this a more superior scary film. The only thing this will not change is whether or not the killer is actually scary. Daniel will be making the video edits to the entire video in each segment. Some scenes won’t have the same edits as other scenes. If a scene isn’t scary and is just the characters being introduced we won’t be as anonymous. This will create a sense of mystery as the viewer knows it’s a horror film yet we wait to put in the horror. A lot of films do this to create a sense of suspense. The hardest part about editing this film will be not making it corny. Since that is a big complaint I have personally with a lot of horror films. If a film is corny it can ruin the whole vibe of the film. Even one bad filmed scene can completely change the whole feeling of the film.
